Did you know that our William Morris fabrics are all perfect for quilting? We print our licensed William Morris designs in a few weights of fabric; cotton, heavyweight and pvc. Our William Morris quilting fabric cotton is the ideal for quilting, and we have it in many different designs. We’ve recently put together a few cotton fat quarter bundles, that tonally go together brilliantly. We have green, red and blue bundles of fat quarters, so they are perfect for every project.
If you’ve ever quilted using our fabrics, please do tag us in your photo, we’d love to see them! We took an interest in quilting during the lockdown, with time to spare it was a lot of fun to do some quilting projects, and it’s since been a fun past time. A lot of the designs go so well together, the colours within the green designs for example, the colours of the greens all go together to fit together into a tonal quilt that we absolutely love.
Our cotton fabrics come in a range of designs, each more beautiful than the next, we can never pick a favourite! All of them are licensed designs and we also have our original French Florals which are from our French archive. The designs work both together and separately with other designs or plain fabrics. We love that when we throw the quilt over a bed or arm chair, that it not only keeps us all warm in the winter months, but it adds a pop of colour and florals to the home.
After all, as Morris himself said, ‘Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be beautiful or believe to be useful‘ – William Morris.
Morris designed his first design in 1862 (which was Trellis) so it’s incredible how timeless all his designs remain to be today. They are all as beautiful today as they must have been back then, and we love to think how many people have loved his designs throughout the years.
You can start with the fat quarters, and then if you need more to go towards the project, you can purchase our fabrics by the half metre. If you’d like a sample of any of the fabrics so you can see them together, do let us know! If you make a quilt out of our William Morris fabrics, do let us know!
