On a recent visit to Wallington, Northumberland I was interested to go on a tour of the west wing. 
Wallington was gifted in 1941 to the National Trust by Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan a committed socialist who decided Wallington should be available for everyone to enjoy.
The west wing had been lived in by the last remaining family member, Patricia Jennings,pictured on the fireplace, Sir Charles’ daughter until 2 years ago.
I was interested to see how she lived with the original William Morris wallpapers, curtains and seat cushions.
The Arts & Crafts wooden surround is originally from the house in the photo, designed by Phillip Webb, sadly since demolished.
It was really interesting to see how the rooms had been used by Patricia, the National Trust has to now decide how best to use the rooms.
My opinion was to leave them and dress them as she had used them for everyone to see how the house has been used throught the years.

Getting craft ready for Halloween with our little wool ghosts! 👻 We’re going to use them on place settings and on a Halloween tree 🎃 Super easy to make, all you need is wool, felt or googly eyes and some glue 🤎 we hope you like our first crafty video, we started with one ghost in the background and re did this video so many times we ended up with a whole ghost party- and we ended up covered in googly eyes 😂 The idea of the ghosts was from @thepomwreathcompany 🧡
