On a recent stay on the wonderful RMS Queen Mary we went to the famous Sunday brunch buffet in the Grand Salon, which was the 1st class dining room.
Situated on R deck the 1st class dining room was one of the largest rooms afloat, it is 143 feet long and could accommodate all the 815 1st class passangers at once.
The wonderful artwork you can see in the picture above is a map by Macdonald Gill which has a crystal model of the Queen Mary on two tracks which indicates position of the ship while travelling across the Atlantic ocean.
This is the most famous piece of art on the Queen Mary
At the other end of the room a beautiful painting with a lady playing the harp underneath creates a lovely atmosphere while the food was just wonderful!
