This listing is for a Merton Blue cotton apron with an adjustable neck strap and removable towelling front panel which just comes off using two buttons for easy removal for washing.
This licensed William Morris Merton Blue design was first produced in 1888. Merton is of course, named after Merton Abbey which William Morris acquired in June 1881 for his workshops for his company Morris & Co. The Abbey complex included buildings for textile printing and stained glass making plus fabric, tapestry and carpet weaving. The fact this beautiful design was named after such an important milestone in Morris’ life - acquiring the mill and all he created from that, makes it a really important and well loved Morris design.
72cm long x 57cm wide The removable towel is 33cm x 29cm
Just like all our designs, our Merton Blue apron was printed and manufactured in the United Kingdom. All our William Morris designs are licensed designs, printed both size and colour wise to our own specification to best suit our products.
