This Licensed William Morris Eyebright design was first produced in 1883. Eyebright was originally designed by Morris as a lining fabric, of course, it's far too beautiful to be hidden in a lining! The fabric was printed using a technique called the Indio dye-method which Morris perfected at Merton Abbey Mills; a former textile factory in Merton, London that Morris owned.
Printed onto 100% cotton cloth, the cotton was printed and professionally cut into bias binding in the United Kingdom.
The bias binding is 37mm wide. As with all bias binding there is a neat small hem every 2 to 3 metres. For the fabric length, it's sold by the metre, so you can choose your length using the drop down above. If you order more than 1m in the same order, it will be sent as a continuous length.
We use high quality cotton fabric which is printed in the United Kingdom. Our printer is a long-established British printer. If you would like a closer look at any of our fabrics, you can get in touch and we’ll be happy to send you a free sample if you’re within the UK. Every single one of our William Morris designs are licensed Morris designs. We print and manufacture all of our William Morris designs to our own specifications in terms of both size and colour to best suit our products. We can keep our fabric cheaper than competitors by printing within the UK and reducing transport costs, we are exclusively an online retailer and therefore we don’t need to pay for flashy showrooms! When you purchase from Laura’s Beau, you are purchasing your product directly from the manufacturer and so we can dictate our prices and keep them competitive.
