James Silvester Sparrow (1862-1929) was a stained glass artist who also made stained glass for other designers such as William Morris, Walter Crane and Frank Brangwyn.
JS Sparrow often used intense and dark colours earning the nickname “the Wagner of stained glass”. JSS Sparrow achieved such dramatic effects by placing pieces or layers of different colours and textures over each other. The glass was then positioned in the same, very wide leads.
