William Morris was very influenced by Tennyson’s work. Many members of the PRB (for instance E Burne Jones, JE Millais, WH Hunt and JW Waterhouse) chose subjects from Tennyson’s poems for their oil paintings. Dante Gabriel Rossetti illustrated Tennyson’s edition of Poems in 1857.
Tennyson became a peer in 1883.
