William Morris Strawberry Thief

14th July 2014

The strawberry thief design has long been a favourite of mine.

I love the story of how William Morris was inspired to produce the design after seeing the thrushes steal his strawberries from under the fruit nets at Kelmscott Manor.

The design was registered in 1883 when Morris was at Merton Abbey

We have recently produced the design in a red colourway and the customer reaction has been wonderful.

This large zipped bag with it’s zipped inner pocket has been very popular.
